We had a great start to the game, 9-2, then 20-5 at the end of the first quarter and we had the team from Wedel quite frustrated.
Our guys played with great intensity and determination.
By halftime we had a 13 point lead.
But as we experienced a 13 point lead is not enough, a few tough calls by the officials went against us, we
made a few mental mistakes in losing our focus and the game got closer.
We battled on responding well to the challenge from a very experienced opponent.
We lead the whole game until with 12 seconds left Wedel hit a driving layup to go up 66-65, we tried to hurry down to get a shot off but where unable to.
Tough loss…, but one we can absolutlely learn from and help us in future games and also to know how good we can be when we really controlled one of the historically best teams on this level.
I think the Wedel guys know that they stole one tonight.
We will get ready to come back strong for the next game and our goals for the season are still obtainable and in our sights.
